When the team here at The Loft Access Company learnt of the hospice service's struggle to source blinds for their eight Velux windows, we knew we had to help.

After months of waiting, the family suites at the newly finished, purpose-built building were finally installed this week - an early Christmas gift!
The Alexander Devince Children's Hospice Service are a brilliant organisation based in Maidenhead, Berkshire. The charity have worked tirelessly for over 10 years and now support over 100 children that suffer from life-limiting and life-threatening diseases and their families. The nurses, supported by the fundraisers and supporters of Alexander Devine, have made an enormous impact to the lives of children in Berkshire and the surrounding areas. A truly wonderful organisation.

During an tour of the stunning building earlier on in the year, The Loft Access Company team member's Rob and Kate learnt of the organistation's struggle to source solar blinds for the eight Velux roof windows installed within their family suites. As long-term suppliers of the Velux products and members of the Certified Installer Partnership, the roof windows suited in the living spaces and bedrooms needed roller blinds and black-out blinds respectively. Solar powered was also necessary as the windows were placed high on the pitched roof and the windows themselves were manual.

After getting in touch with Velux, who were happy to help, the blinds were ordered and the installation date was booked. On the day of the installation however, electric blinds had been supplied rather than solar which meant the blinds couldn't be installed - and so the wait continued.

We were absolutely thrilled when the blinds were finally installed this week by the brilliant Velux engineer, Ed. Check out a couple of the new blinds below - unfortunately it was an overcast day so the images do not do the building justice but what a wonderful way to end the year!

A massive thank you goes out to both Ed for his time and to VELUX for their kind donation of the blinds. The Loft Access Company wishes all of the hardworking teams at both the Alexander Devine Children's Hospice Service and at VELUX a Merry Christmas and a brilliant 2018!
