DUST LINING & INSULATION

Keeping your home warm is important, and one of the best ways you can prevent heat loss is loft insulation. Insulation which acts as an effective barrier between your home and the elements. Our breathable membrane is also vital for keeping the dust and dirt out and for letting the clean, fresh air in.

Breathable Dust Lining Membrane

Used to eliminate any dust, dirt or moisture from entering your loft space, our breathable roofing membrane can be installed directly into the either the internal or external roof slopes, shielding both insulation and roof structure.
This permeable underlay is laid between the insulation and finishing elements, constituting a barrier between the dust particles and your loft space, whilst fulfilling the function of additional windproofing. Once the membrane is installed to the relevant areas correctly, we finish by re-installing timber battens onto the rafters to keep the membrane taut.

Treat your belongings with and care and give them a dry, dust free environment within the loft space.

Loft Insulation

In an uninsulated home, over 25 percent of heat is lost through the roof. Vital to keeping you house warm and ventilated, insulation is correctly installed by cutting around electrical components, allowing them to breathe.
Previous regulations required as little as 100mm thick insulation, whereas the current regulations require, as standard, at least 270mm. Cold spots throughout the house, or particularly high heating bills, are both indicators of a poorly insulated loft.

Please make sure to check your loft insulation, and contact a member of our team if you believe your insulation is not up to regulation

Loft Boarding

Loft boarding is one of the most beneficial upgrades you can make to your home. By boarding either your whole loft or just a small section, you can create a better facility for storage, as well as many other benefits including access across the entire loft and the prevention of heat loss.
Though planning permission is not needed for boarding, all the materials The Loft Access Company use comply with current building regulations. When laying the boarding, we ensure electrical cables are made safe and pipes are boxed in where required.

Boarding is priced per meter, so we recommend either boarding the entire or just the centre section (see below for examples).
